Iced Sugar Cookie Almond Milk Latte

The Iced Sugar Cookie Almond Milk Latte is a holiday special drink in Starbucks. They released this most anticipated drink in 2021 as the first ever Christmas non-dairy drink.

It’s based on the popular Christmas dessert called a spritz cookie, which is buttery and covered with sugar syrup.

This buttery, sweet coffee drink filled with a nutty flavor and colorful sprinkle, is perfect for those who love sweet coffee

So, if you want to have this delicious drink without standing in a long line at Starbucks, then follow our recipe.

What is Iced Sugar Cookie Almond Milk Latte?

The sugar syrup, mixed with espresso and almond milk, topped with whipped cream and sprinkles goes into making this drink.

Almond Milk is the ingredient that unlocks the full potential of buttery cookie flavor and leaves a nutty aftertaste.

This is a great option for those who wish to enjoy the flavors of the season without going overboard on the calories.

And the best part is, Iced Sugar Cookie Almond Milk Latte is a drink that can be enjoyed both cold and hot.

Though traditionally served over ice, you can enjoy it at either temperature.

Ingredients

To make this drink, you will need some preparation of ingredients. Missing out on any ingredient will not give the authentic taste like Starbucks. So, arrange the ingredients mentioned below.

Espresso:

You need 2 shots of espresso to make this drink. You can buy Starbucks blonde roast coffee. You can use a Moka pot or any espresso machine.

However, if you do not have Starbucks’ blonde roast coffee, you can use the beans of your regular coffee. You just have to make the espresso strong if you use your regular one. The taste will not differ.

Almond Milk:

This latte calls for almond milk since it is particularly special for being non-dairy. This is the traditional ingredient of this drink.

The almond milk’s nutty flavor complements the subtle roast flavor perfectly in this drink. Because of this component, milk is unnecessary for the drink.

However,  you can easily swap it out for any other non-dairy milk of your liking. Oat milk has been suggested as a substitute for almond milk since many people find it to be just as tasty. If neither of these options appeals to you, regular milk will do.

Sugar Cookie Syrup:

This syrup is the key to the sweetness of this drink. You can make your own sugar cookie syrup at home by dissolving sugar in water and adding sugar cookie-flavored butter essence.

You can also buy different types of syrups like chocolate syrup, vanilla syrup, etc.

To flavor, the syrup, use whatever you desire so long as it has a sugar cookie taste.

Vanilla Extract:

An entire teaspoon of vanilla essence is all that’s needed to impart that sweet vanilla flavor to sugar cookies.

Butter:

Butter is another necessary ingredient. Using salted butter or a very small amount of butter extract, you can achieve a taste that is extremely close to that of traditional sugar cookies.

Ice Cubes:

You will need one cup of ice cubes to make this chill drink. However, if you like a hot coffee drink, you can also make this latte hot.

Whipped Cream:

This ingredient is an optional one. If you want the top of your drink to be foamy and creamy, you can have some whipped cream.

Toppings:

The latte sprinkles that come on top of your Starbucks drink can be either green or red, depending on your preference.

You can also use the traditional red, white, and green sprinkles on your drink instead of the Starbucks-exclusive red and green sprinkles during the holidays.

You can skip this or get inventive with additional toppings like whipped cream.

Required Tools

1. To make espresso, you will need an espresso machine.

2. Then, you’ll need a pot or saucepan to prepare the sugar cookie syrup.

3. A handheld milk frother to froth the almond milk.

4. You’ll need a straw to mix and drink the iced version of this holiday cookie latte if you decide to prepare it.

How to Make Iced Sugar Cookie Almond Milk Latte?

Step 1: The sugar cookie syrup should be made first. Since it can be kept in the fridge for a month, you may take your time making this recipe.

Get a medium-sized saucepan and whisk together both types of sugar and water. This mixer needs to be brought to a boil over medium heat.

Then, simmer for at least another ten to fifteen minutes.

Upon completion, the sugar should be completely dissolved and the volume of the liquid should have decreased by about half.

Remove the saucepan from the heat after the mixture reaches a simmer.

Then include the butter extract very slowly and add the vanilla extract for flavor. Make sure to keep stirring so that it gets mixed nicely.

When the sugar cookie syrup has cooled completely, transfer it to a jar.

This syrup can be stored in the fridge for up to a week after being brought to room temperature and covered with a lid.

Step 2: Prepare the espresso in an espresso machine or in a Moka pot. Make the espresso strong so that it balances with the sweetness of the sugar cookie syrup.

Step 3:  Now that the sugar cookie syrup has chilled, you can make your iced latte.

In a separate glass pour the ice cubes. Then add the espresso, almond milk, and sugar syrup.

We recommend adding two teaspoons of sugar cookie-flavored syrup to your coffee. But you should give it a try first and add more syrup if you like your coffee on the sweet side.

Step 4: Add some whipped cream to the top of your drink and finish it with some red and green sprinkles.

Can I Make Iced Sugar Cookie Almond Milk Latte Hot?

Absolutely! You can’t go wrong if you have the Iced Sugar Cookie Almond Milk Latte hot.

While cold beverages have their place, there’s nothing like a warm mug of chocolate or coffee on a chilly day.

With this variation, though, you have to skip the ice altogether. You’d begin by heating the almond milk to a boil before adding the espresso coffee.

Can I Make Iced Sugar Cookie Almond Milk Latte Hot?

Step 1: Take a glass and add the sugar syrup you made or bought.

Step 2: Then pour the espresso into the syrup. Mix both of the ingredients so that it’s nicely mixed together.

Step 3: Grab a pan, pour the almond milk, and heat it until it’s boiled. Be careful not to boil the almond milk, as doing so will cause it to curdle.

Step 4: Place the almond milk in a large glass, and then use a hand frother to give the milk a frothy texture.

Step 5: After pouring the almond milk on top of the espresso, carefully combine the two components while being careful not to disturb the froth on top of the drink.

Step 6: Once it’s ready to serve. Sprinkle with festive sprinkles; red and green are traditional holiday colors.

If you make the drink in this manner, it will not lose its flavor even if you make it hot. It is perfect for a cold-weather pick-me-up.
