Are you a blogger? Or, interested in starting your own blog? This is where I’ll share all the blogging info I’ve learned while setting up my blog, and running my past hobby blog, www.notsoseriouseats.com.
So, if you’re new to blogging, start here.
DOMAIN & HOSTING
First, you need a domain and hosting account. I use Netfirms, and have had for several years. They are reasonably priced, and have excellent customer service.
I use WordPress. If you are looking to make a little money from your blog, then you will need a self-hosted blogging platform. WordPress.org is where you need to start. They are easy to use, and have a ton of cool plugins to make your site easy to use.
There are literally a gazillion themes you can choose from to give your blog a unique look. Until recently, the main theme I used was the Genesis Framework, through Studiopress. The “child theme” I added to my Genesis theme is called “Foodie” by the uber creative Shay Bocks. It’s great for food blogs, has a clean look (which I like), but is customizable.
DOLLA’ DOLLA’ BILLS, YO’
